The Surprise at the Gorge

You see, I had made it customary to celebrate before a big raid, so I invited Rayne and my team to join me for a drink, music, and dancing out by the gorge. Yes, this was before those stupid carpenters. There was, however, one more person I wanted to invite.

"I have a surprise for you," I said, fighting a smirk that hurt my cheeks.

"I despise surprises," Ganondorf growled, rising from his throne. I leaned against the doorway, watching the way his body swayed smoothly as he approached me.

"I promise, this won't disappoint you, your majesty. My team is to steal a large shipment of food tomorrow, the largest yet, to help feed the children. It would be an incredible boost to their morale if you would join us for a drink."

Ganondorf distracted himself by looking at a trinket on the table to his left. He glanced at me with those yellow eyes, and the silence proved he debated my words. You see, I had used an argument he couldn't fight. "Fine."

"Great! We should go now, I like to start celebrating before it gets too cold." We exited the fortress, and headed away from the homes to join my team. They had already pulled a cart carrying ale, drums, a lute, an ocarina, and the makings of a decent fire. As Ganondorf and I approached the gorge though, my team had set up a perimeter around a supply tent. "I wonder what is going on here," I said, not able to hide my eagerness. Ganondorf was not amused, and was wary of my true intentions. "Trust me, you'll want to be here for this," I reassured, quietly.

"If this has to do with--"

"It does," I interrupted. "Just wait, please." He wasn't very happy that I cut him off, but I needed him to believe me. You see, I had learned from that scared little girl, who had yet to learn the true meaning of fear, that Nabooru's followers were meeting to create goals, and come together under the same ideal: Kill the king and end his corruption.

It was Rayne that recognized first what we had discovered. She signaled to the others to hold their position, and she returned to report to me what she overheard. "I recognize these voices as comrades. Yet, they speak of treason. They plan to support Nabooru in her quest to find some legendary hero."

I grinned. "Thank you. I think I'll let their king deal with them, if that's the case."

"You've fabricated this entire act," Ganondorf scoffed.

"Your majesty, I don't mean to doubt your wisdom, but we came here to celebrate before our raid tomorrow," Rayne responded. "This... I had no idea they were here, sire."

"They were clueless," I explained, forcing myself to fix my eyes on the canvas tent. "I brought everyone here under false pretense, so that we could stop the rise of these traitors." His gaze weighed on me, judging me. I submitted, and shifted my eyes to look up at him. He was full of hate, but not at me, while I was full of desire to make him see that I was the only one worthy of him.

Oh, I bet you can't wait to find out what happens next. How do you think Ganondorf is going to handle this surprise? This is kind of a long series of events with some rough times, which will lead up to a great ending.
