Since I had made it tradition to enjoy a good meal and drink before risking our lives in a raid, the Gerudo organized an event for the entire day before we marched on Hyrule. Despite my grievances, I willingly continued the plan with Ganondorf. I might have been mad, but he acted as if nothing was wrong. I knew how important getting the Triforce was, and I would do everything in my power to make that happen. So, during our ritual celebration, I tried to forget about how I felt and just have a good time with friends. I avoided too much alcohol because of how I acted the last time, and if I needed to choke Nabooru I wanted to be sober. Instead, I enjoyed watching everyone else act stupid.
Good food was eaten, as much as we could spare. The children had the chance to play with fireworks, and life came back to the eyes of the elderly. I was so glad to see all of my people happy. Everyone but me. Ganondorf was even there, with Nabooru constantly attached to his hip. I tried not to care, just like he wanted me not to, but they suddenly disappeared. My imagination went crazy with ideas of what they were doing, most likely in his chambers, to the point I became so depressed I just went to bed. I was never jealous of her, because I always knew I was better than her at everything, but the fact she could have him in a way I was denied really burned me. She hadn't earned that privilege, nor did she deserve it.
I can't remember every detail. I moved so quickly, acting on instinct alone.
I was definitely on my way to bed. I was cold, and tired of faking. I was ready to sleep so I could be rested for the exciting day coming up. The hall to my room was dark since burning too many torches in the corridors would fill the fortress with smoke. My eyes hadn't adjusted to the lack of light yet when I was attacked. I heard their footsteps scuff on the floor, so I brandished my sword in the breath before they lunged at me like wild cats stalking their prey. I was an outstanding swordsmen, but three on one really had me twisting and turning to save my neck. I managed some decent hits, but before I knew it I was on the floor with a hand around my throat and a sword through my stomach. I gasped for air at the pain, and grunted with my teeth clenched together.
"Enough!"
Suddenly, Ganondorf's voice petrified them, and they started to scramble. You see, though, there was only one entry and exit to the corridor to my room, and he blocked it. All I could make out was an aura of magic silhouetting his muscular frame. He concentrated his power, and I think he grabbed the head of one of my attackers. The surprising part was, the one who stabbed me leaped to attack him, and the last one stayed to keep me restrained. Ganondorf stopped his assailant by gripping her throat. I flipped the girl guarding me with all my strength. I pressed my arm against her throat and forced her to the floor. I kept the point of my blade against her chest, and stood up to hopefully ease the pain in my stomach.
"Explain why you attacked your general, now!"
Neither of them spoke. I watched the girl held by her throat begin to glow faintly with the same color as Ganondorf's magic. He threatened, "Speak, or she dies!"
"This is exactly the evil we fight against. Don't say anything," the girl below me yelled. I stomped on her groin, and her groan was satisfying.
The glow of Ganondorf's magic overwhelming his victim began to shine so brightly I could make out the features of everyone. His face was so contorted with anger, I had yet to see him that enraged before then. The Gerudo under my blade was part of the group whose meeting we interrupted, so I assumed the other two were as well.
"Please," his victim pleaded. "Please don't kill me."
The other woman, held still by his hand squeezing her head, finally spoke up. "We were ordered to kill Dora so that your plan would fail and you wouldn't be able to corrupt the world."
"And who gave you these orders?" he barked, his victim beginning to jerk and twist from seizures.
"The rightful Queen of Gerudo," she said quickly, but with defiance. The words cut me, and filled me with hateful anger. "Please, don't kill her," she begged, talking about the woman close to death. "I'll tell you anything you need to know."
"What does she plan to do once I'm dead?" Ganondorf's grip tightened to prevent the squirming girl from escaping.
"She will create a mutual relationship with the Hylians so we can live in peace, not conquer them."
"How idiotic!"
The woman in his left hand finally went limp, and the power that had invaded her vanished with the light. We were consumed by darkness, that I, once again, had to adjust to. The woman in his right hand screamed, "She's dead. You killed her, you murderer!"
"I don't need disloyal warriors whose faith can be won by false promises," he said darkly. "Dora, bring her to me."
I lifted my captive by her hair, and stood her before Ganondorf, only taking in a sharp breath or two to fight against the pain of my wound. She struggled against me, but not for long, because he gripped her arm and simultaneously sucked out their souls. Both of them stopped fighting, and stood like statues. I poked the one closest to me in the shoulder, and she barely moved.
"Now they have no choice but to serve me," he remarked. Two more Iron Knuckles for the collection. I could only wonder how many more he would add before all the traitors were eliminated.
Oh, right, I was wounded. Since I can tell you this story, you must know I made it, but the circumstance surrounding my continued existence is worth waiting for.
